Rogue
River Canyon Drift Fishing
A must for the avid fly fisherman
A dream come true, yes I do believe that
would be your thoughts after experiencing our Rogue River Fall
Drift Fishing Trip. Whether you're a beginning fisherman or
have fished all of your life the Rogue River offers a unique
experience for everyone.

Our trips begin at Graves Creek and for 3 days and 43 miles we
will drift through the beautiful Rogue River wild and scenic
canyon. In 1976 the Rogue River was entered into an act of
congress called "the wild and scenic act of 1968" This act was
aimed at protecting and preserving the present state of the
river. Since then there has been no building or development.
To protect against crowding the Rogue River can only be
accessed by obtaining a permit. These laws have allowed the
Rogue River to remain unchanged with it's scenic beauty
undiminished.
Nothing compares to this ultimate wilderness experience. As
you drift the Wild and Scenic Rogue canyon with its rugged
white water and placid pools you will not only enjoy the
fishing but also the scenic beauty and abundant wildlife.
While drifting the river you will see Osprey, wild turkeys,
bald Eagles, otters, turtles, dear and maybe even a black
bear. Your guide will point out historic interests and tell
historic tails. You can walk up and see Zane Gray's cabin
where he spent a lot of time steelhead fishing and writing his
famous western novels. Take a short hike up to the Rogue
historic museum where you can learn about the first white
settlers to the canyon and read about the Rogue Indians.
September begins our Rogue River Fall Drift Fishing Trips. We
offer these trips the months of September, October and
November. At this ti me the world famous half ponder steelhead
(nicked named by Zane Gray) and well known for being
aggressive fly biters are migrating up the Rogue River, as
well as the adult summer steelhead, large Chinook salmon and
Coho salmon. A couple of years ago while on one of our trips
Ron Brady landed a 62-1/2 pound salmon while fishing below
rainy falls, at the time it was the largest found on record.
Depending on the time of year there are many different fishing
techniques used on the Rogue River: Fly fishing, spin casting,
bait bouncing and plug trolling. Our guides are masters at all
of them and will best fit the tactic used to the current
fishing conditions. For your convince we provide all the best
fishing rods and tackle as well as all the Flies and bait.
Our specially designed McKenzie River drift boat are truly the
Rolls Royce of water craft, These boats are designed to be
maneuverable in white water while being stable and comfortable
to fish from. With one guide and two guests per drift boat,
you are sure to get all the individual care and attention
needed to make your trip unforgettable.
Don't worry about going hungry. Your
guides will host you each day to a tasty shore lunch.
Everything you will find here is home made from breads, cakes,
cookies, salads to roasted lunch meats and everything you
could ever put on a sandwich. You may help provide some of the
lunch. We will barbecue some of the days catch, fresh
steelhead or salmon is hard to beat.
**we are always happy to take any special requests **
Breakfast and Dinner are provided by the wilderness lodges. We
will spend our nights at these beautiful rustic wilderness
lodges. Here you will experience wonderful accommodations and
first class meals. The lodges offer individual cabins with two
guests per room, hot shower, and a warm bed. This is where
friendships are made and the fish stories grow every year.
Rogue River Outfitters is a second generation family owned and
operated River Outfitting business. We take great pride in all
our trips. All of our guides are full time and have many years
experience fishing and boating the Rogue. Our trips are
exclusive and we can accommodate up to 12 guest per trip.
These trips are wonderful for the family, group of friends,
and make great Corporate outings. If your looking for a first
class river trip of a life time we have the trip for you.
